A Shopify agency for Swiss brands and those targeting Switzerland

Selling in Switzerland isn't like selling in any other neighbouring country. It's outside the European Union, with its own currency and several official languages. Nifty Link builds Shopify stores that account for all this, for brands in French-speaking Switzerland and for French brands looking to grow there.

We are an independent agency based in Paris and a certified Shopify Partner. You work directly with the founder, Lilian Hermandesse, in French or English.

02

What changes when you sell in Switzerland

  • Customs. From the European Union, a parcel crosses a border. Duties and Swiss VAT must be clear before payment: a customer who discovers charges on delivery rarely comes back.
  • The Swiss franc. Showing prices in CHF reassures customers and is required for some payment methods. You still need to decide whether prices are converted automatically or set by hand.
  • TWINT. This payment method is widely used in Switzerland. With Shopify Payments, it appears for a customer in Switzerland paying in Swiss francs, subject to Shopify's conditions for the country of your account.
  • Languages. French, German, Italian: it depends on the cantons you're targeting. We suggest starting with the language of your current customers.
  • Logistics. Shipping from France or holding stock locally changes delivery times and returns. This is a decision to make with your carrier and accountant.

Shopify Markets lets you manage these settings by country from one store, and our article on selling internationally details the method.

Two real projects involving Switzerland

MIB LAB offers premium press-on nails to a Swiss and international clientele. We created an editorial, easily filterable, multilingual Shopify store, with local payment methods such as TWINT and Klarna, across around thirty countries.

Oxhoo sells point-of-sale equipment to professionals. Its B2B store offers a multi-country journey across France, Belgium and Switzerland, with local currencies.

Prices in euros, project run remotely

A store costs €1,500 to €6,000 depending on features, design, migration and the tools to connect. Work on several languages and currencies naturally adds to the scope. Allow about 4 weeks for a well-scoped project, and 8 to 12 weeks for custom work with integrations. Our Shopify pricing guide details the other costs.

We have no office in Switzerland. Follow-up happens by video call, with access to the store as it's built. Geneva is just over 3 hours from Paris by train, so we can come for the kick-off. It all starts with a free 30-minute audit. More than 6 years of experience, more than 50 projects delivered and a 5.0/5 rating on Google.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions,
answered.

Can Shopify accept TWINT?

Yes. With Shopify Payments, TWINT appears for a customer in Switzerland paying in Swiss francs, subject to Shopify's conditions for the country of your account. We check this during scoping.

How do you handle customs when selling to Switzerland from France?

Switzerland is outside the European Union: duties and Swiss VAT must be planned and shown clearly before payment. Tax choices should be checked with your accountant and carrier.

Do you need a separate store for Switzerland?

Not necessarily. Shopify Markets lets you adapt language, currency and content by country from one store. A separate store may be justified by your logistics.

Do you have an office in Switzerland?

No, our agency is in Paris. Follow-up happens by video call, and we can come for the kick-off.

How much does a Shopify store for Switzerland cost?

€1,500 to €6,000 depending on features, design, migration and the tools to connect, excluding the Shopify subscription and apps.
